Blaze Fast Fire’d Pizza is gearing up for its first Kansas City-area location and second location in Kansas.

The fast-casual artisanal pizza concept makes its debut Saturday at 11983 S. Black Bob Road in Olathe, inside a 2,800-square-foot space. On Sunday, it’s offering free build-your-own pizzas from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. to anyone who follows the brand on social media.

The California-based chain joins a growing list of pizza options in the Kansas City market, but one aspect that sets it apart is its dough, which is made from scratch daily and requires a 24-hour fermentation period, said Chris McDonald, director of operations for Kentucky-based franchise group BZKC LLC. The Kansas City native and resident also added that Blaze’s pizza and salads are free of artificial flavors, colors and preservatives. There’s also a gluten-free crust option. Customers can choose from a variety of signature pizzas or build their own, and every pizza is ready in about three minutes, thanks to the 800-degree firestone oven, he said.

“It’s all about the ingredients,” McDonald said of what sets it apart.
