Owen Buckley founded LANE4 Property Group in 2006, bringing together an experienced group of industry veterans who wanted to do things differently. Owen’s commitment to excellence and long-term value creation has shaped LANE4’s success throughout the Kansas City region and beyond. LANE4 quickly emerged as one of the most active and recognizable commercial real estate companies in the Midwest with a focus on strategic brokerage, asset management, and development, including over $1 billion of completed developments and acquisitions since LANE4’s origination.
Owen began his career in commercial real estate in 1985 as a retail broker focused on tenant representation and development. Throughout his career, he has led in the search and successful procurement of well over nine million square feet in an eight state region for his tenant representation clients, including several local, regional and national retailers such as Walmart, Kohl’s, Petco, and others. He has led the development of numerous shopping centers and commercial properties throughout Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska and Missouri, including 39Rainbow, a mixed-use development located at the University of Kansas Health Systems Campus, the Sporting Kansas City Soccer Stadium, and the redevelopment of Metcalf South Mall in Overland Park. His tenure as a real estate authority in the Midwest has landed him on countless expert panels and recognition lists and he is regarded as one of the foremost authorities on real estate and development in the Midwest.
Several of Owen’s development and redevelopment projects have garnered national and local acclaim including the Wall Street Journal (Prairie Village Retail Portfolio), Urban Land Institute’s Development of Distinction Awards (39Rainbow), Kansas City Economic Council’s Cornerstone Award Finalist (Red Bridge Shopping Center), and several Kansas City Business Journal Capstone Awards (multiple projects).
Today, Owen focuses his time on identifying new real estate investment opportunities and strategic partnerships, along with mentoring real estate professionals within the LANE4 team and the greater Kansas City market.
