95th Street and Metcalf Avenue was once home to a bustling mall at one of the busiest intersections in Overland Park, Kansas. Originally opened in 1967, Metcalf South Mall was the most active mall in the Midwest. In February of 2014, LANE4 Property Group along with The Kroenke Group purchased the mall property together with the property directly to the north, formerly anchored by The French Market.
The first phase of redevelopment was completed in late 2018 when anchor tenant Lowe’s opened on the south portion of the site. Additional office, retail, and multifamily-anchored phases are currently under construction, both north and south of the intersection. The majority of the north tract was sold to Shamrock Trading Corp. in the Summer of 2018. Shamrock plans to expand its world headquarters, adding three buildings and over 1,000 jobs over the next five years.
